Al Ahly’s Director of Football, Sayed Abdelhafiz spoke about Al Ahly’s upcoming against Tanzania’s Simba SC in the second round of the CAF Champions League group stage.
“We have a tough game against the Tanzanian champions, Simba SC. They are a strong team, very well organized and they have a lot of fans. However, we believe in the abilities of our players.”
“We will be looking forward to achieving a positive result in order to be the group leaders. Simba SC were able to defeat Congo’s AS Vita Club in their opening match of the group stage and we take that into our consideration before facing them.”
“Moreover, Simba SC prepared very well for the game by entering a closed training camp last Friday. They also have huge support from their fans. All these factors make the match more difficult on us.”
“We have full confidence in our players and we believe that they’ll be able to deal with the circumstances of the game very well.”
On a different note, Abdelhafiz denied receiving any official letter from the Confederation of African Football, CAF, following the end of Al Ahly’s last game against Al Merrikh SC.
Abdelhafiz concluded by saying that Al Ahly enjoys a warm relationship with Sudan's Al Merrikh SC, denying any kind of conflict or disagreement between both clubs.
