Al Ahly men’s basketball team lost 78-76 to Al Ittihad Alexandria Club on Thursday in the Egyptian Cup final.

Youth and Sports Hall in the 6th of October City witnessed a strong performance from both teams; however, the Red Eagles were unable to achieve the victory.

Despite having a slow start to the first quarter of the game, yet our men’s basketball team were able to narrow the gap and end the first quarter 18-16 to the Alexandrian side.

In the second quarter, Seif Samir, Mohamed Abo El Nasr, and Ahmed Hamdy pulled up an impressive performance; however, Al Ittihad won the first half of the game 32-28.

The Red Eagles had a strong start to the third quarter and the second half of the game, as Amr El Gendy and Donovan Jackson managed to score several three pointers ending the third quarter with a 49-48 lead to Al Ahly.

The final quarter of the encounter saw a great performance from both teams; however, our men’s basketball team lost 78-76 in the dying seconds of the game.
