Al Ahly men’s handball team defeated Kirkos of Ethiopia 48-19 on Tuesday morning in Matchday 1 of the group stage of the 2022 African Cup Winners’ Cup competition.
The Red Eagles dominated the game from the start to the end, having a 16-goal lead at the break and managed to extend their lead in the second half to achieve their first win in the group stage.
Mahmoud Noaman was named the best player in the game for his contribution in the team’s big victory.
“We have big ambitions in the competition. We are in high spirits after winning the Super Cup. We hope to defend our Cup Winners’ Cup title and return to Cairo with two cups.” Noaman stated.
The Red Eagles are set to face Ivory Coast’s Don Bosco in Matchday 2 on Wednesday.
