Mahmoud El Khatib, Al Ahly's president, held extensive talks on Tuesday with Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, the Egyptian minister of Youth and Sports, and Gamal Allam, the president of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) in addition to several concerned authorities regarding the club's position of the 2022 CAF Champions League final venue. 

CAF decided to hold the CAF Champions League final in Morocco, which is not a neutral venue as Wydad Casablanca is one of the four teams competing in the semi-finals of the competition. 

Also, El Khatib held several meetings with members of Al Ahly Football Company and the club's football sector. 

Moreover, El Khatib had a wide range discussion with the club's legal department and contacted foreign legal experts to study the situation in order to reach an initial perception before the next board meeting.
