The CAF Champions League draw which was held on Friday, placed Al Ahly with South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns F.C. in the quarter-finals of the competition.

The Red Eagles qualified from the group stage to the quarter-finals after coming in second place, two points only behind Tanzania’s Simba SC.

On a similar note, Al Ahly managed to knock out Sundowns last season from the CAF Champions League after facing them in the quarter-finals of the competition, before going on and winning the title for the ninth time in the history of the club.
