The CAF Champions League group stage draw, which was held in Cairo on Friday, put Al Ahly in group A. 

The Red Eagles have been drawn in Group A of this season’s CAF Champions League group stage alongside Congo's AS Vita Club, Tanzania's Simba S.C. and Sudan's Al Merrikh SC.

Al Ahly, the defending champions, were placed in pot 1 of the draw.

We opened our participation in the competition this season with a 5-0 win on aggregate over AS SONIDEP in the round of 32 to book a place in the group stage.
