Tarek Mahrous, Al Ahly men’s handball team head coach, expressed his happiness following our victory on Friday over Aviation Club SC in the Egyptian League.
Mahrous praised the performance of our players in the game and their effort to secure a 41-29 comfortable victory.
“It was a tough game after the return from the international break as we had 8 players at Egyptian the national team. Also, Osama El Geziri returned to the team after participating with the Tunisian national team.”
“We missed many key players in the match due to injuries such as Islam Hassan, Mamdouh Taha but we managed to overcome these absences and win the game.”
“We will fight to win every competition that we participate in despite the high level of competitiveness this season.”
“Our goal is to build a new generation for Al Ahly that can serve the club for the next 10 years. Our team’s average age of 22 years old and we have five players in the squad who are under 19 years of age in addition to a 17-year old goalkeeper.”
“El Geziri is the best player in Africa and he is adapting well with the team especially after being fully recovered from the injury that he suffered with the Tunisian national team. He participated today for 22 minutes against Aviation Club SC, having scored four goals and set up another four goals.”
Al Ahly handball team will have a 24-hour rest and will be back to training on Sunday to start preparations for the games against Heliopolis SC and Tala'ea El Gaish SC in the Egyptian League.
