Pitso Mosimane, Al Ahly’s head coach, attended the U-16 team’s game against El Entag El Harby on Monday at the club’s grounds in Nasr City.

Mosimane was impressed by the performance of the team during the game, which ended with a 4-1 win for the young eagles.

Our first-team coach met the team after the game and told them that he is very happy with their performance.

“I am so happy to be here with you today and I wish to see you in the future with the first team. You are the future of the club.”

“You had a great game and scored some beautiful goals. You came from behind to win the game.”

We had the chance to catch up with the coach after the meeting to discuss his vision about developing the youth team players and their chances to reach the first team.

“It is important to show interest in the young players. It is important to give them the opportunity to play for the first team.”

“You need to look at the Spanish national team giving the chance to a 17-year-old player like Gavi and we also can do that. As long as they have the quality, they can come and play with the first team. We need to try to help the youngsters.”

“My job is not to coach them; my job is to support the directors and the coaches. I have a good relationship with Khaled Bibo, the youth team’s director. We need to share knowledge and information. They can do a lot of things that we do with the first team.”
