Karim Foaud, our new signing, expressed his happiness after achieving his dream of wearing the red jersey, as the player pinned a five-year contract with the club.
In an exclusive interview with Al Ahly Media Center, Fouad, the 22-year-old right-back, reflected on his big move to the African Club of the Century and his dreams and ambitions after joining the club.
“I can’t express how happy I am to be here. It’s a big honor for me to represent Al Ahly. It was a great feeling after stepping into Al Ahly’s dressing room for the first time.”
“I accepted the offer right away without hesitation. I believe Al Ahly is the greatest club in Africa. For me, it’s a dream come true. It was also a dream for my family. I had many offers and I could have earned more money but I cannot pass up a chance to join Al Ahly.”
“I can play in more than one position. However, I like to play as a right back and then as a left back. I am also comfortable to play in any position, which the coaching staff finds suitable for me.”
“I am well aware of the pressure that comes with playing for the African Club of the Century. I am very happy to play alongside a team full of big names. Of course, I’ll learn a lot from playing next to them.”
“Growing up supporting Al Ahly, I’ve been a big fan of Mohamed Aboutrika, club’s legendary playmaker, and I wished to play next to him.”
“I’m very happy to play under Coach Pitso Mosimane. He’s a great manager who achieved a lot over the past couple of years and has a unique style of play. I am looking forward to play under his leadership.”
“In order to play for Al Ahly, you need to have special traits. You need to believe in yourself and have a strong character. I believe I have both.”
“I wish to win all the competitions, which we participate in. I know each trophy requires something special but I want to win each and every one of them. For me, the sky is the limit.”
“Personally, I dream of winning the FIFA Club World Cup. I also wish to have a great impact and make my own history at the club.”
“I was extremely happy with Mohamed Magdy Afsha’s winning goal against Zamalek in the CAF Champions League final on the 27th of November, 2020. It was a great feeling and I also watched the team’s victory over Kaizer Chiefs, which crowned Al Ahly as the CAF Champions League champions for the tenth time.”
“Finally, I would like to thank Al Ahly fans for their support. I promise them that I will fight and I will do my best in order to exceed their expectations. I am proud to be part of Al Ahly’s family.”
