Mostafa El Badry, our new signing, revealed his happiness as he achieved his dream and returned to wear the Red jersey.
In an exclusive interview with Al Ahly Media Center, El Badry spoke about his dreams and ambitions with the club.
Wearing the Red Jersey Again
“I am so happy that I returned to Al Ahly. It feels like home for me because I played at the club’s youth team. Playing for a big club like Al Ahly is a fantastic opportunity and what I have learned at Al Ahly helped me when I transferred to El Entag El Harby.”
Negotiations with the Club
“I received many offers from several clubs but I was waiting for an offer from Al Ahly and it was a happy moment for me when Amir Tawfik, head of Al Ahly’s transfers department, contacted me and told me that Al Ahly want to sign me. I was overjoyed and I gave him an immediate yes. It is a huge honor for me to return to my childhood club.”
Fighting for His Dream
“When I left Al Ahly, I was very sad and my mother was disappointed but I promised her that I will fight to return and fulfill her dream. The story of Al Ahly current captains Mohamed El Shenawy and Ayman Ashraf inspired me. They left Al Ahly, then they returned and they are now key players at the club.”
His Ambitions
“I have great ambitions with the club. Playing for Al Ahly does not depend only on my technical abilities, but it also requires some personal traits and commitment.”
Afsha's Advice
“Afsha spoke with me and praised my performance. He advised me to be more efficient. I would like to thank him a lot for his gesture and I hope that I will get the chance to learn more from him."
Playing at the FIFA Club World Cup
“The team will participate in the FIFA Club World Cup and we want to show the world how good we are. We will do our best to make our fans happy.”
Celebrating the Ninth CAF Champions League Title
“I am a die-hard fan for Al Ahly and I cannot control my emotions when I watch Al Ahly matches. I remember that I was very disappointed when Hussien El Shahat missed a clear chance in the CAF Champions League final against Zamalek. However, I was sure that the players will score, and when Afsha netted the winner, I was extremely happy and celebrated to the point that I broke my cell phone. I hope that I will be able to score a goal like this because these types of goals will always be remembered."
El Khatib is My Idol
“My idol is Mahmoud El Khatib, the club’s president. He is a legend in Egypt and Africa for his great achievements and contributions to the game as a player and as a president of Al Ahly. I wished to play next to him, but I am so lucky to be here while he is the president of the club.”
His Message to Al Ahly Fans
“I would like to thank Al Ahly fans for their great and wonderful support. They are out biggest support and the main reason behind the club's successes.”
