Taher Mohamed Taher, Al Ahly’s attacking player, conveyed his emotions after winning his second CAF Super Cup with Al Ahly on Wednesday in Qatar.

The Reds won the CAF Super Cup title on Wednesday after defeating Raja Casablanca of Morocco 6-5 on penalties after being held to a 1-1 draw at full-time in Doha. 

Taher entered in the second half of the game and was very decisive for us, as he scored the equalizer which led us to play penalties.

Here is what Taher had to say about the triumph:

“The game was very difficult since the beginning; however, we were up to the challenge and prepared very well for the occasion.”

“We didn’t expect Amr El Soulia’s injury, but Yasser Ibrahim came in and was up to the challenge.”

“Scoring the equalizer in the final minutes of the match is something that we are used to doing in Al Ahly. We never give up until the final whistle and that’s what we did today.“

“I can’t describe how happy I am. I would like to congratulate the board, the players, and our coaching staff on this victory.”
