Ever since his arrival to the club, the Tunisian left-back, Ali Maaloul, has added great value to the Red Eagles’ squad and he is set to remain at Al Ahly for two more years.

After extending his contract with Al Ahly, Maaloul conveyed his thoughts about the deal spoke about his previous period at the club, and revealed his future ambitions with the African Club of the Century.

On the reasons behind why he took time to extend his contract…

“I’m very happy to extend my contract with the club. The negotiations took time because I had a lot of games during the last period with Al Ahly and the Tunisian national team. I would like to thank the club’s representatives for their understanding and cooperation during the previous period. ”

On the offers he received…

“Of course, any player at Al Ahly would attract the interest of lots of clubs. However, I didn’t concentrate on the offers that I received and I extended my contract despite having six months left of my previous contract here at the club.”

His decision to stay…

“Definitely, Al Ahly fans played an important role in my decision to extend my contract with Al Ahly. My career here has been amazing and I’m looking forward to achieving more titles with the club. Also, my family is happy here in Egypt.”

 Future ambitions with Al Ahly…

“My ambitions here at Al Ahly have no limits. I hope to be up to the fans’ expectations and to help the team win more trophies in the future. I am also looking forward to remaining here at Al Ahly after the end of my playing career.”

“We all know that Al Ahly fans have high expectations and I promise them that we will do our best to keep winning more titles in the future. We will participate in the FIFA Club World Cup, and it is a tough competition that includes many great teams. We hope to put on a great performance and bring a medal home.”

“I have a good relationship with Mahmoud El Khatib, the club’s president. Our relationship is based on respect. He is like a father to me. He treats all the players in the same way and always encourages us. It is a great honor for me to know him and I hope that I will be able to meet his high expectations.”

On the ninth star…

“The ninth CAF Champions League title will always have a special place in my heart. I was forced to miss two consecutive finals due to being injured. Thank God, I managed to help the team win the title and I was the one who played the throw-in that preceded Afsha’s goal; moments like these remain forever in our minds.
