Sami Komsan, Al Ahly’s football first team assistant coach, conveyed his thoughts on the team’s draw against El Gouna in the opening match of the EPL Cup.

In his post-match interview, Komsan explained the reasons to why the coaching staff decided to give some of our youth players a chance to play against El Gouna and talked about Mosimane’s message to the players before the game.

“There are a lot of young players who are very talented and skilled. We had a lot of absences before today’s game; therefore, we decided to give our youth players a chance to feature against El Gouna.”

“We know that our youth players have good quality and that’s also what Pitso Mosimane, the team’s head coach, told them before the game.”

“Al Ahly participates in the FPL Cup with the players who are available. We also have two players: Karim Fouad and Salah Mohsen, who were injured during today’s encounter.”

“Also, we have the FIFA Club World Cup in February and it is our duty to make sure that we prepare the players for the competition and make sure to avoid any injuries.”
