Big Win in Alexandria

Al Ahly defeated Pharco FC 4-1 on Tuesday night at Alexandria Stadium in the eleventh fixture of the Egyptian League.

Our players scored three goals in the first half before adding the fourth goal minutes before the final whistle to achieve a comfortable win.

The Red Eagles reached 25 points and moved two points clear at the top of the table.

First Half

We could not wish for a more perfect start in the game as we were leading 3-0 after only 15 minutes.

Mohamed Sherif opened the score with a beautiful shot from inside the box that went past the goalkeeper to give us the lead after only seven minutes.

The beautiful passes behind Pharco’s defense continued and Mohamed Magdy Afsha’s run broke the defensive block to go one against one with the goalkeeper. He shot the ball inside the back of the net to double the score.

Five minutes later, Amr El Soulia passed the ball to Mohamed Hany in the right flank and he sent a ground cross. Sherif touched the ball before the goalkeeper and it reached Afsha who put the ball in the empty net to give us a comfortable lead.

Pharco pulled a goal back in the 17th minute from Mohamed El Saghiri’s follow-up shot.

We kept pushing to add more goals with our attacking players making continuous runs behind the defense.

Five minutes before half-time, Sherif dribbled past the goalkeeper to score his second goal in the game but the referee disallowed his effort after reviewing the VAR.

Second Half

Mosimane made a switch at the start of the second half, introducing Percy Tau and Aliou Dieng in place of Luis Miquissone and Hamdy Fathy.

The half-time impacted the tempo of the game as the first 10 minutes of the second half lacked dangerous attempts from both sides

El Shenawy was called into action to save a clear chance from Pharco’s striker.

Mosimane made another two substitutions in the front line as Taher Mohamed Taher and Hussein El Shahat replaced Ahmed Abdelkader and Mohamed Sherif.

We kept pushing for the fourth goal for more than 40 minutes until El Shahat decided to send the game to bed.

El Shahat received an accurate ground pass from Ali Maaloul at the edge of the box. El Shahat’s shot found the back of the net with a helping touch from Pharco’s defender.

We secured an important win ahead of our clash against Al Merrikh of Sudan in the CAF Champions League group stage on Saturday.
