The Red Eagles achieved a comfortable 3-0 win over Coton Sport of Cameroon on Saturday night in the CAF Champions League.
It was a beautiful night for our players who achieved their first win in the group stage.
Mohamed Sherif opened the score after 53 seconds from the start while Ahmed Kendouci and Raafat Khalil scored the other two goals to open their account with the Red Eagles in the African competitions.
First Half
We couldn't dream of a better start to the game as we were leading 1-0 before the end of the first minute thanks to a beautiful goal from Mohamed Sherif.
Taher Mohamed Taher sprinted down the left flank and delivered a beautiful cross to Sherif who controlled the ball and sent a strong shot that found the back of the net.
This goal is Sherif's 14th goal in African competitions with the Red Eagles.
Sherif was unlucky to leave the game early after picking up an injury to be replaced by Shady Hussein.
Our team dominated the match and we kept pushing for the second goal to secure the much-needed win.
Ahmed Kendouci, our Algerian midfielder, put his name on the score sheet with a beautiful header after receiving an amazing cross from Ali Maaloul to give the Red Eagles a 2-0 lead in the first half.
Second Half
In the second half, we didn't have much possession as the first half and the visitors started to find their way to our area but without danger.
Koller used his bench to have more control over the game with Marwan Attia and Raafat Khalil joining the game to replace Aliou Dieng and Taher Mohamed Taher.
Later, Percy Tau and Hamdy Fathy were replaced by Ahmed Nabil Koka and Mohamed Ashraf.
Ashraf played as a left back, giving Ali Maaloul more freedom in attack, which paid off in the last minutes of the match.
Ali Maaloul received a beautiful pass from Kendouci inside Coton Sport's area to send a trademark cross to Khalil who added the third goal in the dying moments of the game.
