The Red Eagles are back to the UAE once again to start a new journey in the Egyptian Super Cup.

Last season, we celebrated the title at Mohamed Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi and we hope to create more memories at the same stadium, which hosts our opening match in the tournament against Ceramica Cleopatra on Sunday. 

Mohamed Bin Zayed Stadium will host the final on Thursday and we hope for a victory on Sunday to secure our place in the final. 

We had the chance to sit with some of our players and hear from them ahead of our participation in the competition. 

Mohamed Magdy Afsha 
“This is a significant challenge for us at the start of the season. We are motivated to defend our title. There’s a positive atmosphere in the team, and we have the confidence and experience needed to win these types of matches. We are Al Ahly and we know what it means to defend the red jersey. We will do our best to win the title and make our fans happy." 

Reda Slim 
“We have great respect for Ceramica Cleopatra, and we know it won’t be an easy match. We’ve been preparing during the international break, and we’ll give everything to win and reach the final.”

Akram Tawfik 
"We faced Ceramica Cleopatra last season and we suffered to win the match. We expect another tough clash on Sunday but we are ready. We are motivated to defend our title but now we are only focusing on Sunday's match and we will do our best to win and reach the final." 

Omar Kamal 
"The coaching staff used the international break to prepare the players for this competition. It will be challenging, but we are in high spirits and believe in our capabilities. Ceramica Cleopatra is a strong team with many talented players, but we are committed to winning and reaching the final.”

Taher Mohamed Taher 
"We have been together for a long time and know each other well. We all support eachother and we have one goal, which is winning titles for Al Ahly. We trust ourselves and we believe that the support of our fans will guide us to the title." 

Khaled Abdelfattah 
"The players are ready and well-prepared for this competition. Our journey starts against Ceramica on Sunday, and we are hopeful for a victory to reach the final. We have added some talented players to the group in the summer and they have integrated very well and we hope they can add more strength to our team."
