Al Ahly Director of Football Sayed Abdelhafiz spoke following our goalless draw against Pyramids FC in the 10th fixture of the Egyptian Premier League. 

“We played well against Pyramids FC tonight. They have good players, but the referee mistakes and the bad luck prevented us from winning tonight’s game.” 

“Mohamed Hany suffered an injury and was forced to leave the game early. We made an obligatory substitution, but this did not affect us and we were the better team today.” 

“I do not know why Bwalya’s goal was disallowed, as it was rightfully scored. Aerial duels are normal in football, and Bwalya’s challenge was acceptable and it was not a foul.”

“Mohamed Sherif deserved a penalty, as Pyramids FC’s defender tackled his leg before reaching the ball, so when our goals are disallowed; we have to defend our rights.” 

“The team will resume the training tomorrow at 11 AM and then we will enter a closed training camp and we will undergo two PCR tests on Friday, ahead of travelling to Qatar to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup.”

“We are about to participate in a great tournament, and we have to be fully focused on it.”
