Sayed Abdelhafiz, our director of football, spoke after the team’s 1-0 win over Esperance of Tunisia on Saturday in the first leg of the CAF Champions League semis.

“We achieved an important win here in Tunisia, but we still have a second game in Cairo after a week. We have to be ready and fully prepared.”

“It was a big challenge for us especially after the tough circumstances that took place in the stadium before the game. We were determined to get a written pledge from the CAF officials and the game observer that our team will be safe during the game. It is our right to play the game in safe conditions.”  

“Our players had the upper hand in the game and dominated the match. We always had the upper hand in the game when we won here in Rades.”

“The second leg will be more difficult than tonight’s match. I hope that we put on another great performance to reach the final.”

Abdelhafiz concluded by praising the performance of Akram Tawfik, our midfielder, who had a great game despite playing in a different position as he played tonight in the right-back position.
