Al Ahly put on a heroic performance against Brazil's Palmeiras to secure the bronze medal for the second time in our history. 

Al Ahly became the first Arab and African club to reach the podium of the prestigious competition on two occasions, after repeating our achievement of 2006. 

In 2006, Al Ahly won the bronze medal after defeating Mexico's Club America 2-1 in Japan. 

Al Ahly defeated the Copa Libertadores champions 3-2 on penalties after the regular time ended in a goalless draw.
