Al Ahly are set to kick off their CAF Champions League semi-final on Saturday night when they face Wydad AC in Casablanca.

We have played several matches against Wydad AC as it became the most Moroccan team we faced in history.

So in order to be fully prepared before tonight’s game, here are 7 facts about this important clash:

1- How it all started

We played against Wydad AC for the first time in 2011 as we met them in the CAF African Champions League group stage. The home game ended 3-3 as Wael Gomaa, Emad Meteb and Dominek have scored our goals, while the away game ended 1-1 and our goal was scored by Mohamed Gedo.

The second time was played in the group stage of season 2016. The home match ended in a goalless draw in Cairo, but we succeeded to win the away game in Casablanca 1-0 after an impressive header by Rabia.

We met them again in the group stage of the Champions League in 2017, as we won the home game 2-0 when after both Momen Zakaria and Junior Ajayi have scored, while we lost the away game in Casablanca 2-0.

The final and fourth time happened again in the CAF Champions League final in 2017, and we could not win the title then after we held a draw against them in the home game and we lost the away game in Casabalanca 1-0.

Al Ahly succeeded to keep their sheets clean for 3 times during our 8 games against them.
