Al Ahly’s women handball head coach, Yehia Youssef spoke following the team’s 24-23 victory over Alexandria Sporting Club in the Egyptian League.

“We played a good match. The team missed several chances in the first half and we were leading by four points. However, we lacked a bit of concentration in the second half which put more pressure on us, especially that it was a huge game that included both the first and second place in the league.”

“I am happy with the victory, given that we were a bit unlucky in the game. Also, Sporting played in an attacking manner throughout the match and we looked tired during some parts of the game.”

“We still have more games to play. Moreover, we are very motivated to win the Egyptian League and the Egyptian Cup.”

“The team will take a rest on Sunday and then we will start preparing for our next game against Nasr City SC on Friday.”

Youssef concluded his interview by praising the performance on the women’s handball first team, stating that Nasra Eid and Sondos Hashana played a great game against Alexandria Sporting Club.

The Red Eagles currently sit at the top of the league table with 77 points from 26 games in the competition.
