We reached our 13th CAF Champions League final after defeating Wydad AC on aggregate 5-1 on Saturday.
We broke our previous record yesterday as we reached the final 12 times before and we succeeded to win the title with a staggering record of 8 times, while we lost the title 4 times.
The Red Eagles appeared in the champions league final in 3 times in the last 4 years, as the first time came in 2017, the second was in 2018 and this year is our third time.
Here are our records in the final during previous seasons:
1- 1982
Al Ahly reached the first CAF Champions League final in 1982 season and we faced Asante Kotoko S.C and succeeded to clinch our first African title.
2- 1983
Al Ahly reached the final for the second consecutive time, but we could not win the title this time against Asante Kotoko S.C.
3- 1987
The Red Eagles reached third final in that season and succeeded to win our second title after defeating Al Hilal Educational Club.
4- 2001
Al Ahly reached this final for the fourth time in our history, and we faced Mamelodi Sundowns. The Red Eagles succeeded to win our third title after an impressive performance against the South African giants.
5- 2005
We reached the final this season after dominating the tournament during the whole season. The Red Eagles clinched the 4th title against Étoile Sportive du Sahel.
6- 2006
The Red Eagles reached the final for the second consecutive time and succeeded to win the 5th title after a late drama against CS Sfaxien.
7- 2007
We reached the third consecutive final after keeping our brilliant performance, but this time we lost it against Étoile Sportive du Sahel.
8- 2008
Al Ahly reached the final this year for the fourth consecutive time, and we succeeded to win the 6th title after defeating Coton Sport FC de Garoua.
8- 2012
Al Ahly came back to the final this season after being out for a while, but we succeeded to win the 7th title after defeating Espérance Sportive de Tunis.
9- 2013
We succeeded to reach the second consecutive final and we faced Orlando Pirates F.C. The Red Eagles succeeded to defend the title and clinched our 8th title.
10- Al Ahly reached the final again in 2017 and 2018, but we lost them.
The Red Eagles are keen to win the title this season after reaching the final, as we seek to win our 9th title to keep our domination on this title.
