Mosimane's Honest Assessment on Al Ahly's Draw Against El Gaish

Pitso Mosimane, Al Ahly’s football first team head coach, commented on the team’s goalless draw against Tala’ea El Gaish in the Egyptian League on Thursday.

In his post match press conference, Mosimane gave an honest assessment on the game.

“We are sad that we didn’t win tonight but we tried. We missed a lot of chances. We tried to win; however, if we have continued playing for one more hour we wouldn’t have scored. We made more than one attacking substitution but still we weren’t able to score.”

“We should’ve shot more from outside the box.”

“We have too many games to play, but that is still not an excuse. We weren’t energetic enough today.”

“As for Amr El Soulia's injury, he is overloaded with games and he made a very good decision to leave the pitch.  No one played the amount of games that he played over the past period. He wasn’t supposed to play today, but also Hamdy wasn’t feeling comfortable to start.”

“I have three midfielders and I need to make sure to keep one outside.”

“I can’t judge Hossam Hassan. I’m happy that he got the chance to play tonight. Percy Tau plays good but he’s missing the chances.”

“That’s why I entered Sherif and Salah, and both of them missed today as well.”

“We can’t say today that we were tired. I don’t want to make excuses. We played most parts of the game in their half and failed to score.”
