Mahmoud El Khatib, Al Ahly’s president, received on Sunday afternoon the President of Qatar Football Association (QFA), Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, and a delegation from the QFA at Al Ahly premises in Gezira.
El Khatib welcomed Sheikh Al Thani’s visit, which comes in line with the strong ties and the continuous cooperation between Al Ahly and the sporting associations in Egypt and the whole world.
El Khatib held a meeting with Sheikh Al Thani and the QFA’s delegation, in the presence of Hany Abo Rida, a member of FIFA’s Executive Council and CAF’s executive committee.
During the meeting, the QFA President recalled his memories with Al Ahly, saying that he is a lifelong fan of Al Ahly.
“It is an honor to be here at Al Ahly. I respect all the Egyptian and Arab clubs but I am a big fan of Al Ahly. I would like to congratulate Al Ahly fans on the successful campaign of the team in the CAF Champions League. I hope that they maintain their strong run in the competition and achieve the title.” Al Thani said.
El Khatib accompanied Al Thani and the Qatari delegation in a tour inside the club, which included the Trophies Cabinet, the Martyrs’ Memorial, Abdullah Al Faisal Hall and El Tetsh Stadium.
Al Thani added “I am really happy with the reception of El Khatib and Al Ahly officials and I am impressed with the progress and development in the club’s facilities.”
El Khatib handed Al Thani the club’s emblem and shield during his meeting with Al Thani, who gave El Khatib the Qatari national team jersey.
