Al Ahly Face Zamelek in the CAF Champions League Final
Our team will face Zamalek SC in the CAF Champions League final which will be played today at Cairo International Stadium at 9 PM.
We will play today the 13th final in the history of our club, having won the title on eight occasions and finishing in second place for four times.
Our players will enter today’s match looking to win the club’s ninth trophy with the last victory dating back to 2013.
Our team will also be looking forward to achieve a precious victory in today’s game in order to participate once again in the FIFA Club World Cup Championship.
Al Ahly was the first African team to win a medal in such a prestigious tournament after coming in 3rd place in 2006.
Therefore, due to the high stakes in today’s game, Al Ahly’s first team entered a closed training camp earlier this week in order to fully concentrate and prepare for Friday’s match.
Additionally, Al Ahly will be missing the following players in the final: Walid Soliman, Aliou Dieng and Saleh Gomaa after being tested positive for COVID-19.
Lastly, our coach Pitso Mosimane will be looking to find the best tactical plan for our team in order win the CAF Champions League title for his second time after winning the tournament with Mamelodi Sundowns F.C. in 2016.
