Al Ahly Held to Goalless Draw by National Bank of Egypt SC

Al Ahly were held to goalless draw by National Bank of Egypt SC in the 8th fixture of the Egyptian Premier League at Hars El Hodod Stadium.

We started the game with frontline pressure to score the opener. Our first scoring attempt came in the 7th minute, as Walid Soliman shot a dangerous ball but it went over the opponent’s bar. 

We kept our pressure on National Bank of Egypt SC and we missed a scoring opportunity in the 9th minute as Dieng’s shot missed the target.

The Red Eagles controlled the game’s tempo as it was tightened in the midfield, and again in the 19th minute our veteran Walid Soliman shot a dangerous ball but it went away from the opponent’s net. 

In the 26th minute, Walter Bwalya joined the game instead of Walid, who was forced to leave the pitch after suffering a muscle injury.

With less than 10 minutes remaining in the first half, Al Ahly dominated the game and had several attempts, but we failed to score any of them. 

The minutes went by and the referee blew his half time whistle to declare a goalless draw. 

Al Ahly started the second half with high pressure, but National bank of Egypt’s SC defense was very solid and blocked our attempts. 

In the 59th minute, our defender Ayman Ashraf scored the opener, but the referee disallowed it after checking the VAR. 

In the 65th minute, our head coach Pisto Mosimane made another substitution as Mohamed Sherif joined the game instead of Mohamed Hany. 

 In the 81st minute, Mosimane made another two substitutions as Amr El Soulia and Taher Mohamed Taher joined the game instead of Dieng and Kahraba. 

In the 85th minute, Maaloul’s shot went near the opponent’s bar, and Al Ahly kept looking to score the winning goal of the game. 

The final minutes went by and we failed to score the winning goal, but the referee blew his final whistle of the game to declare a goalless draw.
