Al Ahly men's handball team was crowned champions of the Egyptian Cup after defeating Zamalek SC on Saturday night in the final match of the competition. 

Dr. Hassan Moustafa Sports Hall witnessed a strong performance from both teams; however, the Red Eagles managed to have the upper hand in the encounter.

Al Ahly men’s handball team had a strong start to the first half and managed to take the lead, thanks to Abdelrahman Faisal, Abdelaziz Ehab, Osama El Geziry, and Mohamed Essam El Tayar who prevented our opponent from scoring in more than one occasion.

The Red Eagles continued their brilliant performance in the first half, during which they came out victorious, 15-11.

The second half started with the same amazing performance from our men, yet Zamalek SC was able to narrow the gap.

El Tayar stole the show in the final minutes of the second half as he denied the opposition from scoring in several critical moments of the game.

Finally, Islam Hassam and Ibrahim El Masry also had an important role in the dying minutes of the game, as they led us to defeat Zamalek SC 26-23 and win the  game and the competition.
