Al Ahly men’s handball team began their African Handball Championship League campaign with a dominant 41-11 win over Ethiopia’s Mekelle 70 on Saturday.
The Group A match took place at Mohammed V Arena as Morocco hosts the 46th edition of the continental tournament from 11 to 20 October.
The Red Eagles took control early, surging to a 23-5 lead at halftime and maintaining their dominance in the second half to seal a comfortable victory.
Al Ahly will face Red Star of Ivory Coast in their second group match on Sunday.
