Al Ahly’s 2011-born football team have been crowned Egyptian youth champions after a 1-0 away win over Al Ittihad Alexandria on Friday in the fifth round of the competition’s final phase.
Mohamed Abdel Salam Akoush scored the decisive first-half goal, converting a direct free kick that slipped through the goalkeeper’s hands and into the net.
The victory lifted Al Ahly to 57 points, sealing the title with two rounds to spare.
It marks the club’s second youth league triumph this season, following the recent title win by Al Ahly’s 2005-born team.
