Al Ahly’s handball team will kick off their 2025 IHF Men’s Club World Championship campaign against Sydney Uni HC of Australia on Friday at the New Administrative Capital Arena in Cairo.
The 18th edition of the prestigious tournament is set to take place in Egypt from September 26 to October 2, 2025, under the auspices of the International Handball Federation (IHF).
Al Ahly's opening match is scheduled for 20:30 Cairo time (GMT+3).
The Cairo giants are in Group C alongside reigning champions Veszprem HC and Sydney Uni HC.
Al Ahly reached the semi-finals of the competition last year, securing third place after a victory over FC Barcelona.
This marks their sixth appearance at the World Championship, with their best finish coming in 2007 (second place) and third-place finishes in 2024 and 2025.
