A late victory in Alexandria

The Red Eagles snatched a hard-fought 1-0 win over Haras El Hodoud in the Egyptian Premier League at Borg El Arab Stadium.

Achraf Bencharki maintained his strong start with the Red Eagles, scoring the winning goal in the added time. 

From the very beginning, the Reds pushed hard, aiming to control the midfield.

Nejc Gradišar came close to opening the scoring in the 31st minute with a header, but the ball struck the post. Wessam Abou Ali also fought to break the deadlock with a header in the 42nd minute, but his effort went wide.

Despite the Reds’ dominance and multiple chances, they couldn’t find the opener, and the first half ended goalless.

At the start of the second half, Achraf Bencharki and Amr El Soulia were introduced to inject new energy.

The Eagles remained in control but struggled to break through and just as the match neared its end, the Red Eagles struck in stoppage time, with Bencharki exchanging passes with Omar Kamal before finishing beautifully past the opponent’s goalkeeper to seal the win.

With his late goal and outstanding performance, Achraf Bencharki was named Man of the Match.
