El Khatib: The Support of Our Fans and The Team’s Commitment Are The Secret Behind Our Succes

Al Ahly’s President Captain Mahmoud El Khatib stated that the support of our fans and the team’s commitment are the secret behind the club’s victory of the ninth CAF Champions League title.

Captain El Khatib talked about the reasons behind the board's waiting before making some changes in the team's squad. 

“We had to wait for about a year, before making some good transfers due the team being involved in domestic and continental challenges.”

“However, that doesn’t belittle from the quality of the players who were playing for the team during that time.”

“We wanted to sign players who have the winning mentality in order to achieve our goals as a club. Thankfully, we managed to do that in 2019 when we signed several players who were great addition to our club.”

“Additionally, the support of our fans was huge and gave trust to our players. Along with that, the team really wanted to win the CAF Champions League title after losing the title in 2017 and 2018.”
