Al Ahly’s men’s handball team advanced to the semifinals of the African Handball Championship after a commanding 43-22 victory over Benin’s Flowers in the quarterfinals in Morocco on Friday.
The Red Eagles dominated from the outset, taking an 18-14 lead at halftime before pulling away to secure their fifth consecutive win of the tournament.
The Cairo giants booked their semifinal spot with a perfect record, having earlier beaten Ethiopia’s Mekelle 70 (41-11), Ivory Coast’s Red Star (29-12), DR Congo’s JSK (29-19), and Rwanda’s Police HC (55-20) in the group stage.
