Al Ahly men’s handball team claimed the Egyptian Super Cup for the third year in a row with a 26-22 victory over Smouha at Khalifa bin Zayed Hall in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates, on Friday.
The Red Eagles took control early in the match, finishing the first half with a commanding 21-10 lead.
Smouha struggled to close the gap in the second half as Al Ahly maintained their dominance, producing a strong performance to secure the win.
The Egyptian Handball Super Cup, which kicks off the new sports season, featured four teams: Al Ahly, Zamalek, Smouha, and Sporting.
Al Ahly defeated Sporting 29-22 in the semi-finals reach the prestigious tournament’s final.
