Egyptian giants Al Ahly will face Spanish side Barcelona on Tuesday in the semifinals of the 2025 IHF Men’s Club World Championship.
The match is set for 20:00 local time (GMT+3) at the New Administrative Capital Arena in Cairo.
Al Ahly advanced to the last four after a commanding 41-14 win over Australia’s Sydney Uni in their group stage opener, before falling to defending champions Veszprém HC.
The Red Eagles made headlines at the 2024 tournament when they became the first non-European club to defeat Barcelona, ultimately finishing third.
This year marks Al Ahly’s sixth appearance at the championship.
Their best result came in 2007, when they finished runners-up. They also secured third-place finishes in 2024 and 2025.
