Al Ahly basketball women’s team star, Thuraya Mohamed, believes that the team deserved to win the league title after achieving a narrow 75-72 victory over Sporting  at 6 October hall.

“We followed the manager's instructions and showed our real character. We won thanks to the team spirit and the massive support we received.” Thuraya said.

Al-Ahly ladies were down 1–0 in the series but they bounced back and won the next two games to win the league title in style.

Thuraya added “Losing the first game was a big motivation for us and achieving the league title will also be a huge motivation for us to win titles next season and make our fans happy.”
