Al Ahly’s women’s volleyball team advanced to the last 16 of the African Clubs Championship with a straight-sets win over Ivory Coast’s CO Descartes on Friday.
The Egyptian side, hosting the tournament until April 24, topped Group A with a perfect record after a 3-0 victory at the Prince Abdullah Al Faisal Hall.
Al Ahly dominated throughout, with strong blocking, effective spiking and solid reception.
They took the first set 25-6, extended their control with a 25-16 win in the second, and wrapped up the match 25-12 in the third.
