Ayman Ismail, chairman of Al Ahly Sports Facilities Company, spoke during the club’s general conference in Gezira on Monday, giving the latest updates on the club’s stadium project.

“We took into account many factors while coming up with the design of the stadium. We made sure that the design of the stadium embodies the club’s identity. Moreover, we are keen to use the vast space around the stadium to create a sports complex.”

“Facilitating the entrance and exits of the fans is another important point that we took into consideration. Furthermore, we were keen to listen to the ideas of international experts with years of experience in the field to come up with a stadium that meets world-class standards.”

“Additionally, we made to have a multi-functional stadium that can be used for more than one event or occasion.”

“Furthermore, the stadium will include a museum and an area that will be designed for elderly people.”

“When it comes to raising money for the stadium, El Khatib was keen to have more than one medium which would issue money. Also, he was keen to make fans contribute in that process.”

Ismail concluded his speech by stating that the company issued the bidding regulations for Al Ahly Stadium’s naming rights after being approved by the club’s board of directors.
