Al Ahly Sporting Club’s premises in Gezira received a delegation from the “Diverse But United” campaign on Thursday, within the framework of the partnership between the club and UNICEF.
Children from Egypt, Syria and South Sudan made a tour around the club and met players from the club's handball and basketball teams, as the campaign celebrated the World Refugee Day, which falls each year on 20 June.
The campaign is supported by “Prospects Program”, which works in cooperation with the Embassy of Netherlands, International Finance Corporation, and the International Labor Organization.
As part of Al Ahly's social rule, the club signed a Memorandum of understanding (MoU) with UNICEF in 2019 in order to raise awareness about the issues that affect children's life and to use sports to improve the quality of life for the underprivileged children.
