Al Ahly President Mahmoud El Khatib received Ahli Benghazi’s delegation on Thursday, which included the Libyan club’s President Khalid Al Saiti, and the board members Mohamed Al Amrouni, Khaled Al Barasy, and Tawfik Al Deghary.
President El Khatib, was accompanied by Al Ahly’s Vice President Al Amry Farouk, the club’s board members Tarik Kandil, Mohamed El Garhy, and Al Ahly’s Director of Marketing and Transfers, Amir Tawfik.
The delegation came to the club in an official visit to congratulate Al Ahly on winning the CAF Champions League title and also securing the bronze medal of the FIFA Club World Cup.
Ahli Benghazi’s delegation had a tour around the club’s premises in Gezira, as they visited our trophies cabinet, Saleh Selim statue, Abdullah Al Faisal Hall, El Tetsh Stadium, Martyr's memorial, and Al Ahly’s Media Center.
Also, El Khatib and Al Saiti exchanged the clubs’ shields, while our president handed Al Saiti Al Ahly’s jersey as part of the kind relations between the two clubs.
On a similar note, President El Khatib stated that Al Ahly will always back all Libyan clubs, as part of Al Ahly’s efforts to support Arab Clubs.
El Khatib added that today’s visit portrays the bilateral relations between the two clubs, and also reflects the role of sports in the society which helps the youth to become better contributions to the society.
Moreover, Al Saiti expressed his happiness for meeting our president El Khatib, who is considered to being one of the African legends and one of the African Club of the Century’s icons.
Al Saiti said that Al Ahly is the representative of Egyptian football in Africa and the Middle East.
Additionally, Al Saiti also thanked Egypt’s officials for hosting Ahli Benghazi during the last period.
Finally, Al Saiti concluded that Ahli Benghazi is keen to sign a cooperative agreement with Al Ahly to benefit from the club's experience in several fields.
