Mohanad Magdi, the club's board member, received our Olympic champion Giana Farouk on Tuesday at Cairo International Airport after being delegated by our board of directors, headed by Mahmoud El Khatib.
Farouk, Al Ahly’s karateka, became the first Egyptian, Arab, and African female player to collect a medal in karate at the Olympics after winning the bronze medal in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Raouf Abdelkader, director of sports activities in the club, and Mourad Assem, head of Al Ahly’s karate sector, were also keen to receive Farouk at the airport.
On a similar note, the club’s board of directors will discuss ways in which the club could honor Farouk in their meeting on Tuesday.
