Mahmoud El Khatib, Al Ahly president, said that the club members played a huge role in shaping the future of Al Ahly by contributing in the process of designing the club’s charter.

“Drafting the club's charter was one of the most important priorities of the board since day one. It was very important for Al Ahly to have its own constitution that was written by its own sons."

"The general assembly’s members and the club’s legal committee contributed in planning out Al Ahly's future. Almost 15,000 of our members participated in designing the club’s charter."

“We had a specific plan for the club's charter. We discussed several ideas and looked up the previous regulations."

“Al Ahly’s constitution includes many important articles especially article no.112, which describes the details of the establishment of joint-stock companies, with the majority of its shares belonging to the club to ensure that the club members always decide Al Ahly’s fate.”
