Dr. Hassan Moustafa, the President of the International Handball Federation (IHF), was awarded Al Ahly’s Golden Medal during a huge ceremony that was held on Wednesday night at the Arab Music Institute in Cairo.
After receiving the medal, Dr. Hassan Moustafa spoke on his time at Al Ahly, the experience that he gained while working at the club, and his feelings after being honored by the club that witnessed his first steps in the game.
“I’m honored to be here. I’m honored to be celebrated by Al Ahly alongside my dear friend Hassan Hamdy. I learned the right principles during my time at Al Ahly. I learned how to become a leader, how to be fair and just and how to treat my opponents.”
“I learned much from the older generations who were role models for us. Al Ahly never accept unfair victories. I hope that the club continues on the same path and follows the same principles.”
“It was a very difficult journey. I remember from 1985-1991 Egypt didn’t win an African cup nor did we qualify to the Olympic Games or the World Cup.”
“Thank God, we all know what happened next. I would like to thank those who came afterwards and followed and built on what we began.”
