Al Ahly SC’s board of directors will hold a meeting with the board of the club’s football company on Sunday to discuss the latest updates regarding the file of the CAF Champions League final.
Mahmoud El Khatib, Al Ahly’s president, decided to hold this meeting on Sunday after having a meeting today with the club’s Crisis Management Committee via video conference to follow up with them on the latest updates regarding the file of the CAF Champions League final.
As of May 21, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) still didn’t officially inform the club with the venue and date of the final.
Moreover, the CAF still did not respond to the club’s letter, which was sent three days ago, that requested from CAF to allocate half of the stadium’s capacity to Al Ahly fans.
Also, Al Ahly asked from the CAF to facilitate the visa procedures for Al Ahly fans to ensure that our fans can easily travel and attend the match in their allocated seats.
Furthermore, the club asked the CAF to appoint one of Africa’s top referees in the continent to officiate the match and do not consider any referees who committed controversial mistakes and caused problems in any of the previous CAF competitions.
Finally, Al Ahly requested the CAF to appoint European referees for VAR, which was done during the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers especially since the winner of the game will represent Africa in the FIFA Club World Cup.
