Sami Komsan, Al Ahly’s football first team assistant coach, spoke following the team’s 1-0 win over El Masry of Salloum F.C. in the Egyptian Cup’s round of 32. 

Ahmed Abdelkader’s goal at Al Ahly WE Salam Stadium on Sunday was enough to book us a spot in the round of 16.

Here is what Komsan had to say about the game:

“We faced a good team, who have a great coaching staff and a lot of technically gifted players.”

“We made use of Sunday’s game to prepare several players like: Mohamed Mahmoud, Hossam Hassan, Ahmed Nabil “Koka”, and Karim Fouad for the rest of the season.”

“We also gave the chance to Mahmoud Metwally and Badr Benoun for the first time after recovering from their injuries.”

Komsan concluded his interview by stressing the importance of preparing all of the players for the upcoming period as the team will be participating in more than one competition.
