Al Ahly President Captain Mahmoud El Khatib received on Friday the Iraqi Minister of Youth and Sports and former Iraqi footballer, Adnan Dirjal, at Al Ahly premises in Gezira, on the sidelines of the Iraqi Minister’s visit to Cairo.
This visit comes within the strong framework that binds Al Ahly and all prominent figures and institutions on all levels.
El Khatib accompanied the Iraqi Minister in a tour inside the club’s main premises in Gezira, which included the Martyrs' Memorial, Martyrs’ Hall, Abdullah Al Faisal Hall, the Swimming pool, El Tetsh Stadium, and the first team’s dressing room.
The Iraqi Minister praised Al Ahly’s massive achievements, specifically the winning of the CAF Champions League title which qualified Al Ahly to the FIFA Club World Cup, scheduled in Qatar in February, for the sixth time in the club’s history.
Thus, showing his admiration for these achievements as he is one of the Iraqi football legends and had a staggering career.
Derjal affirmed that Al Ahly’s achievements are a source of pride for Arab football.
During his tour with the Iraqi Minister of Youth and Sports, El Khatib discussed the new infrastructure projects and the new facilities in the club’s branches in Gezira, Nasr City, Sheikh Zayed, and the Fifth Settlement.
Lastly, El Khatib concluded by highlighting the efforts to maximize the club’s resources, which included establishing Al Ahly Football Company and Al Ahly Service Company, which are part of the board’s strategy to achieve the fans’ aspirations and provide the best service for the club members.
