
Al Ahly beat Wadi Degla in Egyptian Premier League
Al Ahly beat Wadi Degla 3-1 in the 16th round of the Egyptian Premier League at Cairo International Stadium on Tuesday.
The Red Eagles dominated from the outset but squandered several chances to take an early lead, with Wadi Degla’s defence initially holding firm.
Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet” opened the scoring in the 25th minute, controlling the ball well inside the area after a defensive error and slotting into an empty net.
Ahmed Sayed Zizo doubled the lead from the penalty spot a minute before halftime.
Newly signed forward Marwan Othman made it 3-0 in the 67th minute, heading home a pinpoint assist from Emam Ashour to secure the hosts’ victory.
Substitute Ziad Osama pulled one back for Wadi Degla in injury time, but Al Ahly comfortably saw out the match.
Al Ahly are third in the league standings with 26 points, while Wadi Degla remain fourth with 23.
