Al Ahly board opens three new facilities at Sheikh Zayed branch
Al Ahly’s Board of Directors, led by club president Mahmoud El Khatib, inaugurated three new facilities on Monday at the club’s Sheikh Zayed branch, as part of an ongoing infrastructure development plan across its main headquarters in Gezira and three satellite branches.
The opening ceremony was attended by club treasurer and acting vice president Khaled Mortagy, along with board members Mohamed El Ghazawy, Tarek Kandil, Mohannad Magdy, Mohamed El Damaty, Mohamed Serag El Din, Mohamed El Garhy, and Mai Atef. Also present were Executive Director Dr. Saad Shalaby, engineering advisor Sameh Ali Kamel, and Sheikh Zayed Branch Manager General Nasser Abou Zeid.
Among the guests were Dr. Hassan Mostafa, President of the International Handball Federation; Mokhtar Mokhtar, head of the club’s planning committee; and committee member Zakaria Nasif.
The newly inaugurated projects include:
• The Al-Nozha Gate, now featuring the “Golden Eagle” emblem, a symbol of the club’s identity and championship legacy. The gate reflects the unified architectural design across all Al Ahly branches and is built to modern engineering standards to improve access for members.
• A new changing room complex for men and women, which also houses administrative offices and supports the nearby sports fields and training areas.
• A new members’ seating area, designed for relaxation and social gatherings, featuring a large video screen, a decorative fountain, and a modern children's play zone.
The upgrades are part of the board’s broader efforts to enhance club facilities and improve the overall member experience.
