Al Ahly team doctor Ahmed Gaballah has provided updates on injuries to several key players, including captain Mohamed El Shenawy.
Gaballah said scans showed El Shenawy suffered a Grade Two adductor strain during Al Ahly’s opening CAF Champions League group-stage match against Algeria’s JS Kabylie.
He added that midfielder Ahmed Abdelkader sustained a partial hamstring tear, while defender Mohamed Shokry was diagnosed with a Grade One calf strain.
“All three players will follow individual rehabilitation programmes before returning to full training,” Gaballah said.
