
Al Ahly end Thorup tenure by mutual consent
Al Ahly SC have officially ended their contractual relationship with Danish head coach Jess Thorup and his coaching staff by mutual consent.
The agreement was reached during a meeting attended by the club’s vice-chairman, Yassin Mansour, and board member Sayed Abdel Hafiz, who are overseeing football affairs, alongside Thorup and his agent, Firas Ali, in the presence of Dr. Abdullah Shehata, legal adviser to the football department.
Thorup signed a settlement agreement after receiving all his dues in accordance with the terms of his contract, which was due to expire on 30 June, 2026.
Al Ahly extend their sincere appreciation to Thorup and his coaching staff for their dedication and professionalism throughout their tenure with the club.
The club acknowledges their efforts in striving to achieve the best possible results and wishes them every success in their future endeavors.
Thorup and his coaching staff, meanwhile, expressed their gratitude to Al Ahly’s Board of Directors, players and supporters for their cooperation and support during their time at the club.
They also affirmed their appreciation for the strong and positive relationships they built with all members of the Al Ahly family.
